TRANSPORTATION OF VULNERABLE GROUPS REQUIRES SPECIALIST SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
At NSL Care Services we understand the dangers of having unregulated transfers of vulnerable groups, particularly children, young persons and the mentally less able.
Statutory instruments such as the Health and Social Care Act 2008, the Mental Health Act 1983 and the Mental Capacity Act 2005, are in place to protect the transfer of vulnerable groups, and NSL Care Services has worked within the industry to ensure we meet and indeed exceed the requirements laid out and regulated by the Care Quality Commission.
Transportation in the statutory regulations covers visits to and from schools and educational establishments, hospitals and other independent health care services such as private psychiatric hospitals, clinics and medical agencies and independent hospitals.
We can work with you to provide the necessary transport services in a structured and protected way.
Our Safeguarding Policy and procedures lay down clear guidance and control on how we approach such transfers, and our experience in county-wide operations such as in Hereford and Shropshire will give you the assurance that we can handle your requirements, whatever is needed.
We will work to ensure we understand framework arrangement you have in place for social and educational needs, and the bespoke nature of the services means that we can work with you to support the transfer of those with greater needs. This includes passengers with physical disabilities where that may require our staff to have specialist training, respite care for all ages, and the use of a wide variety of vehicles to ensure transfers are managed in a way sympathetic to the passenger needs.
In some instances we’ve used the same crew or gender specific crew with particular passengers to build trust.
To be able to cover this type of work our vehicles and staff are registered with the local authority and undergo stringent compliance regulations. Apart from our own rigorous standards and checking we will work with you to ensure your compliance officer spot checks work to protect both our own and your reputation.
